Make a flyer in Gemini and fix it right in the chat, explained by monkey
You don't need a design app to make a flyer anymore. Ask the Gemini app for one as a PDF, and it shows up right in the chat, even on your phone. If something's wrong, highlight it and tell Gemini what to change. It works on free Gemini too. Here's what to ask, how to fix it, and what only works on a computer.
On October 29, Google started letting you create, preview and edit files right inside the Gemini app chat. You ask for a file, it appears in the conversation, and you can fix it without leaving the chat. Google says it's available to all users, in every language and country where the Gemini app works, including free personal Google accounts.
How to make the flyer
- Open the Gemini app (or gemini.google.com).
- Ask for the file by name. For example: "Make a one-page flyer for my banana stand as a PDF. Big title, one picture of a banana, the price is $1 a bunch, open Saturdays 9 to 5."
- The PDF shows up as a preview right in the chat.
How to fix something
- Highlight the part that's wrong (the price, a date, a sentence) and tell Gemini what to change. You can also ask it to rewrite a section or change a picture.
- Or expand the file to full screen and type the fix yourself.
- When it looks right, download or share it, then print.
Phone vs computer
PDFs preview and edit on the web and in the phone apps. Google Docs, Sheets, slide decks, plain text and code files are web only for now, so make those on a computer.
Other things to ask for
- A study guide: take photos of handwritten notes, upload them and ask Gemini to turn them into a PDF study guide (this is Google's own example).
- A slide deck outline you can open in Google Slides or export as PowerPoint or PDF (web).
- A tracker or table that opens in Google Sheets (web).
