Make Claude turn your notes into slides, explained by monkey

comment: DECK

You don't have to drag boxes around for hours anymore. Paste your messy notes into Claude, ask for slides, fix what you don't like, and download it as PowerPoint. It works on the free plan. Here's the message to copy, a few ways to use it, and the one thing to check before you send it.

On October 8, Anthropic took Claude Slides out of beta and put it on every plan, Free included. That means any Claude chat can now make you a real slide deck: you give it your notes, it lays out the slides, and you download the result. Anthropic's own example ask is about as plain as it gets: "Turn these notes into a deck for Monday."

How to do it

  • Open a chat with Claude and paste in your notes. Messy is fine: bullet points, half sentences, a list of numbers.
  • Ask for slides, and say who it's for and how long the talk is.
  • Look through the deck. Don't like a slide? Just say what to change ("make slide 3 shorter", "use a chart here"), or click in and edit it yourself.
  • When it looks right, download it as PowerPoint or PDF.

The message to copy

Paste this, then put your notes underneath:

say this to Claude:
Turn these notes into slides for [who it's for]. I have about [how many] minutes. Keep each slide short, one idea per slide, and use a simple chart where there are numbers. My notes: [paste your notes]

Ways to use it

  • A Monday team update from a page of meeting notes.
  • A school or college presentation from your research notes.
  • A pitch for your small business: what you sell, who it's for, what it costs.
  • A one-off talk: a wedding toast outline, a club meeting, a training session.
  • Turning a long report someone sent you into five slides you can actually present.

The one gotcha

Send the file, not the link. Reviewers point out that a shared Claude link only opens for people with a Claude account, so download the PowerPoint or PDF for anyone else. And open the PowerPoint once before you present: some formatting can shift on the way out, so check every slide.
